Why I Believe Vacations Matter More Than People Realize

There’s a phrase I think about all the time:
“You get 18 summers with your kids.”
That reminder hits a little differently once your children are grown. Life moves fast. Faster than we realize while we’re in the middle of school schedules, sports practices, work deadlines, laundry piles, and the everyday chaos of trying to keep up with it all. And somewhere in between all of that, the moments we remember most are usually the ones where we stepped away from normal life and simply spent time together.
That’s why I believe vacations matter so much.

Not because they’re “luxuries.” Not because social media says you should travel. But because shared experiences become core memories for families.
And honestly? That belief is what eventually led me to become a travel advisor.
Hi, I’m Veronica Loftin, Travel Advisor with Fairytale Journeys Travel. I’m a wife, mom of two adult children, proud “Lolli” to my grandson, Navy veteran, former Sleep Technologist, and lifelong lover of all things Disney and travel.
Long before travel became my career, it was already part of who I was.
I’ve always been the planner. The researcher. The person comparing resort maps at midnight, building spreadsheets, watching ride videos, reading cruise ship reviews, and figuring out the smartest way to maximize every vacation day and dollar. What started as planning trips for my own family eventually turned into helping others do the same.

And somewhere along the way, I realized something important:
Most families are overwhelmed before they ever even book the trip.
Disney destinations, cruises, Universal Orlando, all-inclusive resorts…there are SO many options. So many opinions. So many moving pieces. For many people, planning the vacation becomes more stressful than exciting.
That’s where I come in. I’m not just here to click the “book now” button. I’m here to help families feel confident, excited, and supported from the moment they start dreaming about a vacation until the day they return home.

For some clients, that means helping narrow down which Disney resort is the best fit for their family. For others, it means comparing cruise lines, planning dining reservations, creating personalized itineraries, helping with Lightning Lane strategies, monitoring for promotions, or simply answering the hundreds of questions that pop up before travel day arrives.
And one of the biggest misconceptions about using a travel advisor?
My services do not cost extra.
When you book with me, you are typically paying the same price you would pay booking directly through the supplier. The difference is that you now have someone in your corner helping guide you through the process, watching for details you may not even know to look for, and helping make your vacation feel less stressful and more magical. But beyond all the logistics and planning tools, this career means something deeply personal to me because I know firsthand how important these trips can become.
Years from now, your kids probably won’t remember what was packed in the suitcase. They may not remember the exact restaurant reservations or what row you sat in for the fireworks. But they will remember laughing together on a Disney ride. They’ll remember watching fireworks with sticky Mickey bars in hand. They’ll remember their first cruise ship. They’ll remember late-night swims, character hugs, and family dinners after long park days.
Those are the moments that stay with us. And being trusted to help families create those memories is something I never take lightly.
I’ve been incredibly blessed to work with amazing clients over the years, and I’m genuinely grateful every single time someone chooses to trust me with their vacation plans.
So whether you’re dreaming about your first Walt Disney World vacation, a Disney Cruise Line sailing, Universal Orlando, a relaxing Sandals getaway, or simply trying to figure out where to even begin, I’d love to help guide you through the process.

Because at the end of the day, I don’t just believe in planning vacations.
I believe in helping families make time for each other.
